When I’m driving for a long time, I keep myself awake by singing. That being said, I almost always listen to music I can belt at the top of my lungs. Here’s what I listened to while driving to Atlanta!
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The Soundtrack is a must. The whole soundtrack hasn’t been released yet since the show is still going on, so I just look for someone who has been putting them all together in a playlist for the time being. I love it all, but my favorite songs are Wondering and I Think I Kinda You Know.
When I think belt-worthy music, I obviously think Broadway. Donald made a playlist, that I added to, called honey get my leotard and it’s got a lot of my favorite Broadway bops like songs from Wicked, Hamilton, and Dear Evan Hansen.
It’s Christmas time, so we definitely had to listen to some Christmas bops. I like the Spotify playlist Christmas Pop.
When I want to slow down and chill, I listen to Donald’s playlist Food for My Spirit. It has some really great worship songs like Your Peace Will Make Us One by Audrey Assad and Wonder by Bethel Music.
During the last part of the trip, Donald and I took a trip down memory lane with Spotify and listened to the Most Streamed Songs of the Decade playlist. It’s fun to remember certain parts of my life based on some of the songs. Cheerleader by OMI was the anthem of my debut court at all the practices leading up to the event. One of the first concerts I ever went to was for LMFAO, Party Rock Anthem filling my mind and teaching me to shuffle.
What do you listen to when you’re jamming in the car?
